Netbook Support
Free Data-Collection Software for Low-Cost Netbooks
1. Choose Your Netbook
Several companies offer great deals on these small, lightweight, low-cost computers and Vernier technology is compatible with many models. Netbooks typically run either Windows XP or a variation of Linux, such as Ubuntu 8.
2. Choose a Low-Cost Interface
Our inexpensive Go!Link interface, along with Go!Motion and Go!Temp, are easily connected to a USB port of a netbook.
3. Choose Your Sensors
Choose from a wide range of sensors, including temperature, motion, light, and force. See our list of compatible sensors.
We recommend one Go!Link and one set of sensors per lab group (2-4 students).
4. Add One FREE copy of our Software
Depending on the screen size and operating system of the netbook, you can run either a special version of Logger Lite (Windows and Linux), or LabQuest App (Linux). The screens are smaller than a traditional laptop, so we take care that dialog boxes are not too large. Best of all, this software is FREE.
