Magnetic Field Sensor
Use the magnetic field sensor to study the field around permanent manets, coils and eletrical devices.
This sensor, which uses a Hall effect transducer, is sensitive enough to measure the Earth's magnetic field.

Measuring the magnetic field in a coil
Suggested uses include:
Physics:
- The magnetic field in a coil
- The magnetic field in a slinky
- The magnetic field of a permanent magnet
Physical Science:
- Electromagnets
Earth Science:
- Exploring magnetism
- Where is North?
- Searching for iron ore
Our newly designed sensor has a rotating sensor tip. This allows you to measure both transverse and longitudinal magnetic fields.
