The Chlorine Test Paper measures total available chlorine from 0-200ppm, and give results in just seconds. Total available chlorine is the sum of free available chlorine and the combined available chlorine. Our chlorine test paper is most often used to test the strength of solutions used to sanitise surfaces, for example, in the restaurant industry. In these types of applications, bleach is usually used to generate the available chlorine.

The Nitrate test strip is used to detect Nitrate in solution at 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, & 500ppm. Nitrate test strips are often used to test fertiliser run-off in agricultural areas. This strip is very sensitive to light and moisture, so be sure to keep the vial tightly sealed. For a dual Nitrate-Nitrite test, check out or combo test strip with both tests in one.

The Sulphite Test Strip is used to detect Sulphite ions in water-based solutions, measuring in increments of 10, 50, 100, 250, and 500ppm. The Sulphite test strip will detect free sulphite. Detection of combined or total (free + combined) sulphite requires additional sample prep. Various types of sulphites can be tested with this strip: sulphite, bisulfite, and metabisulfite. Our original colour chart was developed to measure sulphite ions in ppm (from sodium sulphite standards), however, we have checked standards and found that bisulfite and metabisulfite also match the same colour chart.

The pH 1-14 test strips (single pad) are wide-range strips measuring in steps of 1.0 pH units, and give results in just seconds. Use wide range pH 1-14 test strips (acid-base) when you have a diverse range of materials, and you are unsure what end of the spectrum you will land on. This strip has one pad for ease of reading and can be used in many different circumstances, including education, industry, cosmetics, water testing and more.

The Protein test strip detects residual Protein in water in increments of 0.3, 1.0, 3.0, 10.0 plus g/L. If used to test protein in urine, the colour may be more green than blue. If testing urine samples, consider using the Urine Analysis Test Strip. The Protein test strip is based on so-called “protein error of indicators”. This phenomenon relates to the fact that certain pH indicators will change the color at a different pH value in the presence of protein then in the absence of protein. The test is more sensitive to albumin than to globulins, mucoproteins, hemoglobin and Bence-Jones protein. The Protein test strip is strictly for use in education and training students in all levels of medical and clinical-biochemical educational programs. It is not for use in the medical field.

The Low Level Chlorine test strip measures residual chlorine from 0-10ppm in increments of 0-0.5-1-3-5-10 in just seconds. This test strip detects residual levels of free chlorine. It is accurate within 5-10% of reading the colour scale. The strip can also be used to test for chlorine in drinking water if this is a concern, however, our Residual Chlorine test strip, which measures up to 5ppm, may be a better suited option for testing residual in drinking water.

The Nitrite test strip is used to detect Nitrite in solution at increments of 1, 5, 10, & 25ppm. These strips are often used when testing for Nitrites in wine, seafood, and sandwich meats, such as ham and bologna. This strip is very sensitive to light and moisture, so be sure to keep the vial tightly sealed. For a dual Nitrate-Nitrite test, check out or combo test strip with both tests in one.
