The Vernier Energy Sensor offers an easy way to quantify voltage, current, power, and energy output of small wind turbines and solar panels such as those used in our KidWind Experiment Kits. Simply connect a source such as a small wind turbine or solar panel to one side and a load such as the Variable Load or a resistor on the Vernier Resistor Board to the other side.
The Energy Sensor measures the current and voltage of the system. Data-collection and analysis software, such as Logger Pro or LabQuest App can then calculate the power and energy output.

- A computer with a compatible Bluetooth® 4.0 radio is required. Only computers running Windows 10 or Mac OS X 10.10 or newer are supported.

- Full support of this sensor is only available when LabQuest 2 is connected to a Chromebook via Wireless Data Sharing. Future software updates will support the use of this sensor with LabQuest connected via USB to Chromebooks.
