Photogate (Light Gate)

This is a non-invasive sensor designed to measure human blood pressure. It measures systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressure utilizing the oscillometric technique. Pulse rate is also reported.

Our Hand-Grip Heart Rate Monitor is ideal for determining a person's heart rate while mobile or stationary. With this sensor, heart rate can be monitored during, or after, exercise. The sensor consists of wireless hand grips and a receiver module that plugs into any of our data-collection devices. The hand grips sense the electrical signals generated by the heart. The Conductivity Probe determines the ionic content of an aqueous solution by measuring its conductivity. This has many applications in chemistry, biology, and environmental science. The Conductivity Probe has three ranges, providing optimal precision in any given range. Biology teachers can use this probe to demonstrate diffusion of ions through membranes. Chemistry students are able to quickly investigate the difference between ionic and molecular compounds, strong and weak acids, or ionic compounds that yield different ratios of ions. Environmental science students use it to measure TDS, total dissolved solids.  

The Goniometer measures the angle of a joint, such as the knee or elbow. Use it to analyze the range of motion of a limb during different types of physical activity.

The Colorimeter is great for Beer's law experiments, determining the concentration of unknown solutions, or studying changes in concentration vs. time. This 4-wavelength Colorimeter measures the amount of light transmitted through a sample at a user-selectable wavelength in order to determine the concentration of a solution. The Constant Current System is a DC power source with a built-in current probe designed for use in electrochemistry experiments, and as such eliminates the need for a separate power supply when performing electroplating and electrolysis experiments in Chemistry. It is capable of delivering 0.6 A at 5VDC Use the Constant Current System to explore Faraday's law and determine Avogadro's Number. Note: It can only be used in conjunction with its own built-in power supply. It cannot be used to measure the current of a circuit using a different power supply.

The EKG Sensor measures electrical signals produced during muscle contractions, and can be used to make standard 3-lead EKG tracings or surface EMG recordings. The EKG Sensor measures electrical signals produced by the heart. It uses three disposable electrodes. An EKG graph is displayed, demonstrating to students the contraction and repolarization of the heart's chambers. A package of 100 disposable electrodes is included with the sensor.

The CO2 Gas Sensor measures gaseous carbon dioxide levels in two selectable ranges of 0 to 10,000 ppm and 0 to 100,000 ppm (which covers human breath). Ideal for measuring changes in Carbon Dioxide levels during plant photosynthesis and respiration.
