Experiments
- Utilizes internal feedback for accurate AC waveforms and DC levels.
- Can provide a steady, linearly controlled DC output for driving loads like DC motors, and precise AC waveforms for driving things like speakers.
- Current limited to protect against overload and shorting.
- Current monitor function allows you to log real-time load current.
- Class A-B Push-Pull Amplifier provides low distortion with good efficiency.
- Connect to a computer with Logger Pro 3.8 or new and LabQuest, LabPro, and SensorDAQ interfaces.
- Works with LabQuest in standalone mode.
The power Amplifier can be found in the following Vernier Lab Books:-

Use Your LabQuest as a Signal Generator…
The Vernier LabQuest (with LabQuest software v1.3), connected to the Verier Power Amplifier, can now be used as a Signal Generator saving you the cost of investing in an amplified signal generator seperately.
All the connection cables needed are supplied with the Power Amplifier so set set up couldn’t be easier. Simply run the audio cable from the audio output of the LabQuest to the input socket on the rear of the Power Amplifier. With this you can drive loads of ±10V and currents up to 1A.
Connect either speakers, lamps or DC motors to the Power Amplifier via the 4mm terminals. The Power Amplifier Accessory Speaker (above) is perfectly suited to the Vernier Power Amplifier and can be used to study the mechanical waves and springs.
What's Included
- 1 x Power supply
- 1 x 3.5 mm audio cable for LabQuest control
- 1 x BTA cable for LabPro input and current sensing
Specification
- DC coupled between tip and sleeve of 3-conductor connector
- Frequency range: DC to 15 kHz
- Overall gain: 10x
- Input impedance: 10 kΩ
- If using this input with a source other than LabQuest, use a mono cable so the PWM input on the ring will be grounded.
Sensor Requirements
The Power Amplifier may require a compatible interface and software. Choose a platform below to see compatible interface and software options.
The Power Amplifier is fully supported with LabQuest 2, a standalone data logger with built-in graphing and analysis software.
