The Vernier Anemometer is an impeller-type anemometer that measures wind speed in the range of 0.5 to 30 m/s (1 to 67 mph). The Anemometer fits in your palm for wind study measurements in the field. A standard camera mount on the back and an accessory rod allows you to position it in wind tunnels or in front of fans for wind turbine experiments.

The Vernier Energy Sensor offers an easy way to quantify voltage, current, power, and energy output of small wind turbines and solar panels such as those used in our KidWind Experiment Kits. Simply connect a source such as a small wind turbine or solar panel to one side and a load such as the Variable Load or a resistor on the Vernier Resistor Board to the other side.
The Energy Sensor measures the current and voltage of the system. Data-collection and analysis software, such as Logger Pro or LabQuest App can then calculate the power and energy output.
